"Confusion is sadly stigmatized as the mark of the "loser" without regard for the fact that one cannot come to know anything without first surrendering to the not knowing. " This quote from the author of this article, Jeff Brown, was what made me chose to seed this link this week.
I found this article interesting because it talks about how HBO as made a movie to cast light on Dr. Jack Kervorkian. There was also recently an episode of Grey's Anatomy that dealt with physician assisted suicide.
This article talks about unhealthy relationships and codependency. There was one line in particular from chapter five of Big Questions, Worthy Dreams, that hit home for me.
I thought this article related to the class pretty well since it talks about a certain kind of development throughout the human life span, their self-esteem.
This article talks about the case of Terri Schiavo that I'm sure most everyone can remember. After Schiavo's heart stopped beating, she suffered brain damage that left her in a vegetative state.
While reading chapter eleven on death and bereavement, one of the Critical Thinking boxed found throughout the chapter struck me as particularly interesting.

This article tells about a teenage pharmacy tech making an error on a prescription which resulted in a woman taking ten times the correct dosage of her medication. The woman suffered from a stroke after taking the pills and later died.
In the textbook The Journey of Adulthood, Bjorklund talks about something called occupational gender segregation. She says that while no one specifically tells men or women that there are certain jobs they should or should not have, there is enormous pressure on them to do so.

This article was really interesting to me because same-sex couples were discussed in two of my classes this week, this one and my Sociology class.
This article touches on something that The Journey of Adulthood text book mentioned in chapter five. It gives a few reasons why people are choosing to marry and have children later in life than in previous decades.
This article grabbed my attention even though Alzheimer's was discussed more in previous chapters than in chapter 4. In this article, a young woman tells of her experience singing and playing guitar for a group of elderly people in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimer's.
In chapter three of our The Journey of Adulthood textbook there is a section called Individual Differences in Health that I found particularly interesting.
